Is there a Drupal module that can show expanded user profiles, and provide a user directory?

It would be nice to have profiles list people's skills and interests, and allow them to specify who their 'friends' are (similar to how Meetup works.)

Also, a user directory, listing all the users would be good. If you you how do to this in Drupal, post it here.

The nice thing about the Drupal community is the fact that a lot of them have been with it for a number of years and a lot of the things that might come up for us are probably already on the forums or have had a module created for them.

Ashely, can you make a recommendation on what to do/what module to use? I can also ask around to some of the pro-Drupal developers I know, but I'd like to see us get something in place soon.

Ok, I am customizing the profile module. I'll be digging around other community sites to determine what fields we might use (city, web site url, blog url, etc...)
